Hey HEY, issue two of Station Magazine is kicking off nicely, should hit early September. We’re desperately in need of a Station intern to help out on the magazine. We’re looking for someone to contribute two/three days a week – the successful applicant must LOVE writing, must be obsessed with the latest TRENDS, and must be extremely HYPER for fresh fashion, great photography and inspiring design – as well as being able to make a cup of tea now and again.
The role entails: generating ideas, writing features, commissioning writers, photographers and illustrators as well as contributing to social media and the website, and running occasional errands.
THE GOOD NEWS: The Station Magazine intern will be have the working title of staff writer, and will be credited in the masthead of the magazine. Our intern will learn the ins and outs of running a popular independent magazine, and will get to see their work in print, as well as getting the chance to attend fantastic and exclusive press events across the capital. This is a great opportunity for a wannabe journalist to get into the industry, you won’t work as hard or learn as much anywhere else!
THE BAD NEWS: We have no budget for our interns at the moment, so we can’t pay you, the benefit would be the experience working on all levels of a print magazine.
WHO WE’RE AFTER: The successful applicant will be really enthusiastic about magazines and publishing, will want to get involved at every level, and will be willing to muck in on all aspects of putting the magazine together. Must be handy on a Mac, and confident on the phone.
HOW TO APPLY: Email a CV to the editor, Elizabeth@stationmag.com, by the 15th August, with a brief cover note telling us why you would like to work for Station Magazine. Only successful applicants will be contacted.
We look forward to hearing from you!
